Darrien Waugh, a 21-year-old from Gardner, Massachusetts and a General Business Major at Nichols College shares his views on racism and the need for communication.
Wise beyond his years, he cautions of our tendency to "trickle down" outrage until our motivation wanes to futility. Darrien suggests looking at reasons behind the action, from both the victim and the perpetrator, to begin to understand the “why.”
Hopeful but realistic Mr. Waugh knows that fighting racism is a multi-generational commitment and one that he accepts toward his dream to leave an impact.
